Japan Puppet Fest
The biggest annual puppet festival in Japan,(www.iida-puppet.com) has asked me to rustle up some performers. As I live in Japan, I’ve appeared at that festival regularly for several years now. Hundreds of pros and amateurs gather in a small city in the Nagano mountains in early August to perform for thousands of enthusiastic fans. 4 day fest, your target date is AUG. 5. This year they are specifically looking for AMERICAN SOLO STREET CAPABLE PUPPET STUFF, (the rest of you lot don't bug us, eh). Obviously shows that rely on spectacle more than language will be easy and fun for the local audience. There is a budget. There are still a couple of slots open, but we need commitments soon. In fact, the puppetry community is responding with everything but the right thing. So if you’re interested and can send promo including some footage on tape or disc right away (required) you stand a good chance. I’ll be happy to answer questions and provide info.
