Seems like yesterday or last week!

I too recall the days in New Orleans quite well. Arriving in the SUmmer of 1980 I was there with ya all for 2 years before Michael James, 4 years before Tom Morrison and well, never met Mark Riggs that I recall. Heard he is quite good. I had left by then in 1990's to raise my infant son alone ( long story he is now 21) we joined Ringling, Disney World, moslty I miss the streets. Too much Mall of America... I recall my first show in Key West in the 80s, Birdie on unicycle, or my shoulders, Shoehorn on the chaos board and saxophone, and I did my Handtand Rola Bola routines, and a handstand on Birdies head! It was a 3 man show. Still have the picture of PM magazine interviewing us, you guys were the greatest teachers I ever had, every single one of you.
I recall all of you in New Orleans, it is where first met Jeep, Will , Cellini , Birdie, Scotty and many others all for the first time and made many great friends. One funny note was I was in New Orleans for 2 years then went to try and get Tom to come down he was my practice buddy in Clearwater prior to my going to Nawlins he went to OK City so I looked him up..it took another 2 years to get him to come to a Mardi Gras( I had to revisit OK City, cuz he had broke his foot flipping of a 2 story buidling the first time I was up there. He became my protege for 2 years then. Borrowing material is fine, and when you work close with someone and they take your whole show and do it right where you are doing it after 2 years of watching, that's fine too, to a point.. I guess. Funny thing is I saw a few video clips Mark Riggs and I was like wow he is doing some of my lines and things Tom copied from me, well I hold no grudges it's good to see it get passed on , just kinda funny brings ya back to the day. Just watched an old show of Toms, and like everyone else, you borrow the lines , but the act itself is very different. You can add me on Facebook as starkrush@yahoo.com I am new to the net kinda well not new but just lately connecting, posting old photos and transferring videos from 1980 when i first arrived all the way to the later 90's when I returned to Minnesota to work at mall of America. I do so miss the streets and always said if I ever got famous all I would do was the streets, well I never got famous! Still back to the streets I go!
If you see any people on my Facebook page I have not tagged please fill in the names as many I recall by face only.
I even have video of Ruthy the Duck Lady walking through one of my shows, she was fun to have drinks with I loved her and she hardly drank with anyone....and yes... her duck is following her through my crowd as well!
Will be a pleasure and honor to mingle with old friends and make many a new> my main trademark is still my nunchucks, ninja sword and fire juggling routine which for one, I do not talk during that trrick takes too much concentration, I also am pleased no one imitated it ever since I first publicly performed it at the IJA in Fargo in 1993...
Yes I like to write, I have detailed every day of my life since 1980 to today in noteoooks alwasy writing new shows, putting pen to paper, video to storage and pictures to places. It takes up over 3 full filing cabinets of notebooks now, that is just the notebooks! So hopefully someday I can find a writer. or publisher if I ever stop writing.......it really is not about me as much as it is all of you...I told Biride an excerpt he had forgotten all about it, police demanding what was in his suitcase on BOurbon Street...I will let Birdie tell you about that one, after the second Cop arrived and Birdie finally opened it up...the 1st cop became very small turned at blue as his uniform and had to be wheeled off on a two wheeller hommity hommity...almost litlerally...by the 2nd cop. Birde said he will use that in his show now it was in the 80s as well.
or Scotty in Key West, adjusting his tie and it squirt Kirk in the face in a perefct stream, Kirk says " Oh Scotty you have a new squirt tie?" I do not think Scotty saw the squirt in Kirks face, I sure did. Scotty did not recall this event either. so I am full of fun stuff like that. "Squirt tie? No its just a regular tie I musta popped that blister I burned my finger grabbing the devil stick last night." I got tons of em, a good memory and look forward to witnessing many more!
