Study on risk taking and the circus arts is looking for participants.
Dr Aaron Doyle of Carleton University and Kevin Walby from the sociology department are conducting a study of risk taking and the circus arts.
Participants can live in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, or places like NY, Chicago, Boston or San Fran. Otherwise, it will be pretty hard for us to get in touch with you.
Interviews can take place in coffee shops or wherever the artists prefer. Phone interviews are also an option. Participants will be paid $20 for their time. Interviews could be with people who are currently active in the scene or who are taking a break from the scene or are recently retired.
It is part of a bigger project on risk and work. We want to hear about the experiences of circus artists, about how they think of their bodies, and their emotions concerning the risks of their work. Particularly, we are interested in work involving in-air or trapeze acrobatics.
