    Scot Nery updates

    Here’s a message for my mailing list. I’ve been a dead-beat fan-club president, but I’ve been working on great things. Feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions. scot@juggle.com

    OVERALL FALDERAL:

    You have one more month to catch MY COOKING SHOW(Crash Course) and late-night show in San Franciscot. At the end of June, I’m going to Los Angeles for more or less than 6 months. I’m working on new stuff for my fans and trying to get some TV work. My book will come out as soon as I write it, and my DVD is almost started.

    COOKING SHOW:
    ~~~~X~~~~X~~~~X~
    San Francisco is the place to be in June as I finish up the 6-month run of my live cooking show --Crash Course. It’s not on TV, it’s not what other performers tell me to do. Crash Course is what I would want to see in live performance. I focus on adding elements of freshness, education, friends-hanging-out-feel, comedy, action, self-placement and interaction. The themes since January have included “How to seduce a chess team,” “Tasty Taxidermy,” and “Spring break at the Vatican.” Every week is a completely new show (that will be 24 themes total by July).
    Here are the final four themes:
    * BURLESQUE BRUNCH… Kitty Kitty Bang Bang (dance troupe) joins me in cooking some slightly sleazy grub.
    * 3D FOODIES… I’m gonna try to make 3D glasses for everyone and cook food that takes up space.
    * SURPRISE… I’m not tellin’. I will say it’s going to be good.
    * HOW TO HOW TO… People who understand the workload of doing a new show weekly ask me, “How do you do it?” and, “What’s your phone number?” the weekend of June 23,24,25 I will answer the first question. And the second one.
    Please everyone come to the shows and tell your friends to come. It’s something I really care about and the money that doesn’t pay for theater rent and expenses, goes to me. You can buy tickets online. Buy some even if you’re not coming.
    8pm - Thur+Fri+Sat - CLIMATE theater - 285 9th Street
    “Emeril meets Johnny Knoxville” – SF Weekly
    “A Comedic Success and a Culinary Failure” – Oakland Tribune
    LATE NIGHTS:
    ~~~X~~~~X~~~~X~~
    I’m in a show called “Dirty Little Secret” which runs Saturday nights now. It’s going great and I do my famed pancake flipping routine as a really judgmental and mental character. If you want to catch that show too, it makes for a great Scot Nery double header on Saturdays – Crash Course & Dirty Little Secret.
    11pm – Sat – York Hotel – Sutter @ Leavenworth

    SALINE VALLEY:
    ~X~~~~X~~~~X~~~~
    Los Angeles will be home for a little while. Opportunity knocked and I’m going to reap it because if that door closes before I sow my wild oats, I might be locked out in the pumpkin patch. I figure I’ll get some Television exposure. That will help me to do bigger live shows. The sponsors will come running and there will be people to help me produce good stuff. I just like doing the live crap. It’s real and personal and I know you’ll be there.

    FOR MY FANS:
    ~~X~~~~X~~~~X~~~
    http://www.scotnery.com has proven a pain to update, esp. as my computer is now kaput. I’m getting working on a new site that will be simpler for me and more fun for you. It will have a sockload of downloads and fun stuff and will be nimbler than your pizza man.

    DREAM BOOK:
    ~~X~~~~X~~~~X~~~
    I’ve been toying with ideas of a cookbook as a step-brother to my cooking show. It would be recipes, anecdotes and stupid ideas. A publisher is way into it if I ever get it together. I’ll keep you updated and make sure the writ hits the fans.

    JUGGLING DVD:
    ~X~~~~X~~~~X~~~
    It was a cold November in Nashville when my pals from http://www.nashvillestandup.com (site designer: me) joined in filming my how-to-juggle video – Catch U. Now, there’s a bunch of footage, tons of notes, a theme song, and a complete concept. The next step is to put all that together to make it into the best juggling teacher ever. It really will be that good when it’s finished and I’ll sell it as cheap as I can so that everyone can learn. Perfection comes with time, (Luke Perry wasn’t born that way) so you’ll have to wait for utopia.

    That’s the scoop;
